How many scans do I need?

The number of scans will depend on the type of twins you are carrying. If the twins have separate placentas we normally recommend a first scan at 12weeks,second scan between 20-22weeks and every four weeks till delivery if there are no complications associated with the pregnancy. If the twins are sharing the same placenta the first scan is recommended at 12weeks,the second scan at 16weeks then every two weeks till delivery.
